Safe & Stylish Travels

The holidays are around the corner which means a lot of travel to see family and friends. We have some trips planned and we're sure you do too. But, just because you're on the move, doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice your look. We are wearing the Funk top by Fluxus for long car rides and plane trips. This top is just as comfortable as it is stylish with cuffed sleeves and a rolled round neckline. Paired with leggings we already own, it's an outfit any fashionista would be proud to wear.
Speaking of plane trips, we can’t leave home without our PLANE TO SEE bag. We 've been using these for years and now we can share it with all of you! Made of regulation sized clear plastic, this bag will make traveling easy. Throw this in your Jessica Kagan Cushman tote and your airport security run will be smoother than ever. Last we suggest a scarf to keep you warm and cozy while in transit. Try a YARNZ cashmere blend scarf worn as intended or use it as a blanket while you doze off. What gal doesnt like to snooze in style?

Safe travels!

It's Trend Time

Most girls, like myself can attest, all trends are not created equally or for everyone. No matter how we may wish they could be. Skinny jeans aren’t for all body types and pointy toed shoes don’t necessarily excite the masses. So it goes each year, one must learn to scour the market, analyze the new, and decide… this trend is mine. As a self proclaimed fashion obsessed individual, I love to follow trends. Whether I decide to rock them or not is another story. But in the midst of the military craze, the plaids, and layer upon layer of neutrals, I have my sights set on a few trends I intend to embrace.

Seen on the head of Kourtney Kardashian, and the must have list of Rachel Zoe, I too am smitten with these uber chic turbans. I am talking about Gold Saturn headwear by the young designer, David Acosta. Picture this head wrap on a windy day at the beach or as that perfect ear cover on a chilly day in the city. Either way this trend is a true statement piece I will make all my own!
Next on my hit list are fingerless gloves. I mentioned recently my move from New York to Florida. Well I suppose this trend is my way of holding on to the weather I left behind. Crocheted tubes by Yarnz are 100% cashmere and deliciously soft. Picture wrapping your hands in your favorite cashmere scarf. I love them in navy, worn with denim. Best part, they are light enough to wear throughout the entire evening. Therefore, not only warming your hands, but creating an unexpectedness that even the most bold statement necklace cannot.
My advice is… Make your move. Pick a trend. Wear it your way and remember enjoy them while they’re here cause nothing lasts forever.

Fall Favorites

It is undeniable that Fall is officially in full swing! I love how the weather is starting to cool off a bit, even if it’s only by a few degrees. It still means it's time to break out fall fashions. So although my new found Floridian status has left me yearning for the cooler days in NYC, I have found a way to embrace fall in my own way.

On top-I am wearing grey hued tops by Kain Label and LnA- Light weight by fall standards, but the shades of grey remind me what time of year it is.

Instead of boots- I am wearing the Wymer black and nude patent pump by Sergio Zelcer- It's the ideal transition from summer nude to winter black just don’t be fooled by the low price point these shoes demand any fashionista’s respect.

For my nails- I am wearing Shellac- It's the first hybrid nail color that is applied like polish. It wears flawlessly for 14 days with a high gloss shine. Not only does it last for what seems like forever, it allows you to leave the salon knowing you can’t possibly mess up your perfect mani.

I may have left chilly weather behind, but embracing new trends and colors will always be part of my fall tradition.

Dana

Viva Las Vegas

The days of summer are over which means we are all resuming our busy schedules. Sara has returned to the class room, Anna is back to her studies, Leah is honing her culinary skills, and I am maintaining the business. But before being forced back into the grind... we got together for one last rendezvous. And there was no better place to kick back and enjoy the final days of summer than Las Vegas!
This weekend we found ourselves looking for a night on the town, a day by the pool, and of course some quality family time. This can only mean one thing… many many cute outfits! And so I broke down our wardrobe essentials for a 4 day jaunt to Sin City. Here they are…

For our feet Sara, Anna, and I all found comfort in our Sergio Zelcer heels. Sara and I opted for nude patent pumps while Anna wore a black patent basket weave pair.

For day, Anna and Leah wore Mink Pink minis. Leah rocked the 4th of July dress and Anna shopped in the Parent Trap dress, both ideal with 100+ degree heat.

For night Anna chose to wear a body hugging ruched dress by Frenzii, while Leah accessorized with a JJ Winters chain purse.

For the cross country plane ride home I paired Charlie 5.0 jeggings with Capote's super soft boat neck top.
Our weekend was a blast... and we hope yours was too!

Going Gray

Going gray this season isn’t in reference to ones roots, but rather ones wardrobe. Gray is everywhere this fall, from nail polish to denim to our favorite leather accessories. It is the perfect transition from summer whites to winter blacks. Some of our most loved fashionistas like Kim Kardashian have already begun to embrace the trend on their nails and in their clothes! For nails we suggest OPI Sheer Your Toys.We love how it matches everything that already hangs in our closet. This hue looks chic even in the most basic of fabrics as seen here in this cotton ¾ sleeve dress by Olga De Polga. Not ready to wear it all over just yet? Try this studded multi wrap belt from Vita Fede over a basic black or neutral dress. If you  already own a some gray try incorporating a pop of color and don't be afraid
to mix textures.

Retail Revelation

Florida and New York share many things… sizzling night life, fabulous restaurants, and beautiful people. However, when it comes to dressing, the fashion needs really differ. Since relocating to Florida about a month of ago I realized my daily wardrobe had taken a 180 degree turn. Yes, it is summer and you could argue that it is unseasonably warm in Manhattan, so how different could the dress be... but this revelation was about something else. It was about the clothes I had bought then and what I needed now. Yesterday I browsed the shelves of one of my favorite shoe stores and instantly reached for te over the knee suede boots. Why these shoes were being sold in 100 degree weather I cannot tell you, but what I did know was that these boots were an investment I no longer needed to make. I began reminiscing about the past five years living in Manhattan, stocking my closet with delicious leather jackets, wolford tights, cashmere sweaters and a collection of winter coats. I realized that these garments were now taking a back seat to my denim shorts and gladiator sandals. Change in climate meant two things; I needed new clothes and I needed to work on my South Florida style.

Now, living in New York was eye opening for me. My time there introduced me to the beauty of being unique, dressing for every occasion and experimenting with my own personal style. That being said, I am ready to bring that education to my new life down south. Below are some of my new favorite go to pieces.

-Denim Button Downs- Out side jackets are not required, but it does get awfully cold in the air conditioning. I wear my denim button down shirts as jackets. They are great over dresses and match everything. I also love to throw them in my carry on when I am traveling. They fold up smaller then a jacket and weigh a lot less in my usually over stuffed bag! Shop Denim Button Downs
-Headbands- Headbands are hot and everyone is rocking them, but I have never thought of them as a day time look. However, when I want to rock a pony-tail in the daytime heat, a headband is the perfect addition! This style is great because it gives me the opportunity to show off a great accessory that usually gets lost in my curls. Shop Headbands

-Breathable flats aka Soludos- I can not stress the importance of a good flat! These are the perfect summer shoe as well as an alternative to flip flops. From the city to the beach they are a go-to for optimal support, comfort and versatility... Not to mention they retail for under $30!! These shoes are also getting some serious press with reason. They have been featured in Harpers Bazaar, US Weekly and Daily Candy. Shop Soludos

Dress to Impress

Dresses are fun, easy and make a lot of sense with this heat. So it is no surprise that my sisters and I are all about rocking Summer’s hottest frocks. My personal favorite right now is the long tribal print maxi dress by Torn by Ronny Kobo. Its light weight, has a ton of color and hugs my curves in the right places. Worn with heals or gladiator flats this dress is perfect for dining out on a warm summer evening in South Beach. But, if I need a dress to take from work to play, which is often I then reach for shorter style like one of these by Rachel Pally and Fighting Eel. These dresses are easy to accessorize and keep you looking cool when the thermometer tops 100 degrees. No matter my pick I am all about the nude heals. I suggest the Winger patent leather nude platform pump by Sergio Zelcer! These sexy shoes are all leather, hand made in Brazil they add inches to your stems. Be sure to pack these pumps on your next vacay they will match with everything!
